What Is Pique, What Is It For?

Pique is a thin textile product with a textured weave that allows air circulation and can be used on its own as a cover. It needs no case, unlike a duvet — and that is also how it differs from a duvet cover: a duvet cover is a case, while the pique is the product itself.

It is preferred instead of a duvet in spring and summer, and can serve as an extra layer under a blanket in winter. Because it makes a bed look tidy, it also works as a bedspread.

Piques made from cotton yarn only are the strongest option for moisture absorption and skin-friendly handle. They stand out for not causing overheating on warm summer nights.

Cotton-Blend Pique

Cotton-led blends improve dimensional stability and colour fastness, an advantage in heavily washed hotel and dormitory use.

Fringed and Patterned Pique

Fringe detailing and woven patterns give the pique the character of a bedspread. Modern and classic pattern options are offered together within the collection.

Note: Sesli Tekstil does not produce polyester pique or rPET pique; the pique collection is built around cotton and cotton-blend structures.

Pique Sizes

Pique is produced in two main size groups, single and double. In the sector, double piques are commonly made at 200×220 and 240×260 cm and single piques at around 160×240 cm, with pillowcases at a 50×70 cm standard. In project and wholesale orders, sizes are defined per order.

Pique Care

Cotton piques are generally washed at 30–40 °C. To preserve colour fastness, wash separately the first time, spin at low speed and dry in the shade. Slight shrinkage in the first wash is normal for cotton products; allow for it when choosing a size.
