What Is a Tartan Blanket?

The tartan blanket takes its name from the Scottish check. The pattern — formed by colour bands crossing at right angles — is created during weaving by planning the yarn colours. In other words, the design is not printed onto the surface afterwards; it is part of the fabric itself. That is why the pattern on a tartan blanket does not fade or peel off in the wash.

Why Acrylic?

Acrylic fibre gives a wool-like hand while being much lighter, and it does not felt. Three properties stand out:
